Put a hike where it happened

A photo with GPS lands at its exact point on the trail. One without lands on the spot you pick. Either way the file's metadata is stripped before anything is served, and nothing appears until a moderator has looked at it.

What happens to the file

The original is read once, in memory: GPS and capture time come out, the pixels are re-encoded with every metadata block dropped, and the original is discarded. GPS is kept server-side only when it falls inside a mapped trail’s corridor — a photo taken at home must never publish a home address. What we serve is the stripped copy, after a moderator approves it.
